Professor Emeritus
Organic Chemistry

A Short Biography:

Professor Anet received his BSc and MSc from the University of Sydney and his PhD from Oxford University.

Research Interest:

The conformational properties of cyclic and acyclic molecules are being investigated by NMR. Other tools used include deuterium equilibrium isotope effects and empirical force-field calculations. The medium rings are being studied in some detail because these systems have become increasingly useful as synthetic intermediates as their conformational properties have become better understood.

Key Concepts and Words:

Organic Chemistry: stereochemistry and conformational analysis; isotope effects; empirical force field and quantum mechanical calculations; NMR spectroscopy.
